Dedicated North Country Savings Bank Employee Leads Community
North Country Savings Bank (NCSB) Assistant Vice President and Ogdensburg Branch Manager Stacy Gushea of Rensselaer Falls, N.Y. leads her community through her role at the bank and as a local volunteer.
Gushea says she began working at the bank because she had always heard about the positive atmosphere and how great the job opportunities were. Now, going into her 12th year, Gushea wears many hats. She oversees day-to-day operations of the Ogdensburg branch, guides employees with any questions they may have, and works in the teller line as needed. Gushea is also a certified retirement account specialist, where she enjoys working with customers who are saving for retirement — ultimately helping them reach their retirement goals.
"The best part of my job is helping customers from start to finish, knowing they appreciate the help we give them," Gushea said. "I like problem-solving with our team to give customers the best solutions to fit their needs."
Gushea is proud of NCSB's customer service and wide product offerings — including online banking, which gives customers a user-friendly option that some may not know about. One piece of advice Gushea gives customers is to simply ask for help.
"If you have any questions or concerns at any point, give the bank a call or stop in and see the staff," Gushea said. "We'll take your financial position into consideration and help you achieve your goals."
When Gushea is not working at NCSB, she is volunteering in her community or exploring outdoors close-to-home (her favorite spot in the North Country is Coopers Falls). As secretary of the Rensselaer Falls Festival Committee, Gushea helps with event planning and fundraising ideas for the Fall Festival. In addition, Gushea helps the Rensselaer Falls Fire Department with bookkeeping needs. She has also previously served on the Village Board.
"NCSB is very charitable and encourages staff to get involved in local activities whenever we have the opportunity," Gushea said. "Outside of what we choose to do on our own, NCSB gives us the opportunity to participate in bowling/golf tournaments, walks/runs, and local events."
